Hey, guys.

I purchased one of the Roland Um-One interfaces, a mk II. It worked great until it broke after some travel.
No big. I purchased a second one, and was smart enough to get the warranty. That second cable worked just as well as the first one, but it broke within a few hours of opening the package due to a trip on the cable. The lovely customer service with my warranty ignored my email.

Such is life.

I have roughly $50 in Amazon gift cards, and I was wondering about the best portable interface (preferably built right into the cable) that I can get. I need one that I can roll up and place in my travel bag, so it's gotta be just a cable, yet sturdy to not break when I need it. What do you suggest?

Edit: I have one of the "$5 specials" cables from a friend. It seems to transmit the midi okay, but not SYSEX, so I can't edit the pedal's settings. At least that's what it looks like. I tried getting around it by different settings, but gave my FCB some really weird settings. Are these types of cables okay for performance, as long as I'm using something else at home to set this thing up?

Thanks,
Alan
